Breathing Space provides a confidential phoneline for anyone in Scotland over the age of 16 who is feeling low, anxious or depressed.

NHS Inform provides the people in Scotland with accurate and relevant information to help them make informed decisions about their own health and the health of the people they care for.

Cancer Support Scotland are dedicated to supporting the wellbeing of those affected by cancer across Scotland. have published a free Seniors Guide to Cancer to help raise awareness of the different types of cancers typically affecting the elderly.

Family & Relationships

Abused Men In Scotland can be contacted for information or support if you have experienced or are experiencing domestic abuse.

ManKind Initiative provides support to male victims of domestic abuse. They run a confidential helpline.


Citizens Advice can be contacted for information or support if you have a legal problem. They offer free advice on a wide range of issues, including welfare benefits, housing and employment problems. They can give advice over the phone or in person at a local bureau.

General Social issues

Samaritans is a charity dedicated to suicide prevention. They operate a 24hour helpline for anyone who is struggling to cope and needs someone to listen without judgement or pressure.

Alcoholics Anonymous is concerned solely with the personal recovery and continued sobriety of individual alcoholics who turn to the Fellowship for help.

Frank provides honest information about drugs, as well as confidential helplines including communication through text.

Gamblers Anonymous Scotland aims to support anyone who has a desire to stop gambling and tackle gambling addiction.
